Do I really speak out loud, or just type?
Out loud. Parla listens through your microphone and replies in a natural voice, with a face that responds as you talk. You can type if you prefer, but the whole point is getting comfortable speaking.
Which languages can I learn?
More than 20, including Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin, Korean, and Arabic. Every plan gives you access to all of them, so you can switch or learn several at once.
I'm a total beginner. Will I be lost?
Not at all. On day one your tutor speaks slowly, uses simple words, and happily switches to English to explain when you're stuck. As you improve, it quietly raises the difficulty to keep you at the edge of comfortable.
How is this different from a language app?
